As I have been having job interviews, I have been putting together portfolio books to leave with employers. The books are about 30 pages long and contain my best work. I used Japanese stab-stitch binding to make them. I also created a little pocket on the inside cover which contains my resume and business card. Then I made a small sleeve to go around the book. I think it is all-together a neat little package. 🙂

I have my complete Winn Dixie rebrand project posted on Behance now. Check it out!
My Portfolio Show
Well folks, I’m officially a college grad! My portfolio show was a success. It took a lot of hard work but I’m so happy with how it turned out! I got some jobs leads from the show, and I won Best in Show in the graphic design program. I also gave away ALL of the air fresheners that I ordered! People really liked them! Here are some pictures from the show.

Winn Dixie Rebrand Project—SNEAK PEEK
Man’s Best Friend
Winn Dixie Rebrand
I have completed the logo for this project. It was a long process, but I think I finally nailed a logo that conveys the right message—that Winn Dixie is a neighborhood grocery store with fresh, organic, locally grown products.
Next I will be designing touchpoints for Winn Dixie like a website, an annual report, packaging, advertizements, and a brand guide.
Here is my sketching process.
Personalized Air Fresheners
I received the air fresheners that I ordered last week and I love them! I think they will be a great take-away to hand out at my portfolio show.
The company that I used to print them is Air Trends International (http://www.airtrendsinternational.com). They were super helpful; they sent me proofs so that I could approve how the design was laid out, they made scent recommendations based on my target audience, and they allowed me to place a small order (most other companies had a 100 piece minimum).
Funcie Live! Ad Campaign
I am currently working on several BIG projects as I near the close of my college career (5 weeks left!). One of the projects is creating an ad campaign for my brother’s news cast, Funcie Live!—a comedic news cast ran by four students from Ball State University. You can check them out at https://www.facebook.com/funcielive.
Here is my progress so far. I’ve created a new logo for them and will be designing other touch points like a poster, flyer, and short commercial.
Watercolor + Typography
I am getting really close to graduating with my bachelors in graphic design, which means I’m getting really close to my PORTFOLIO SHOW! I’m pretty pumped about it, and I have some cool ideas about how I will display my work.
I decided that am going to order some car air fresheners (you know the kind that hang from the rear-view mirror) with my branding and contact info on them to give out at my show. Today I finished the design that will go on the back of the air fresheners. I did a little watercolor painting of some flowers and then did some hand-drawn type on top of it in Photoshop. Here is the result!
