Tonight I was excited to have my chalk drawing featured at Canterbury Hotel and Restaurant in downtown Indy. The theme was the ’20s. I watched the Great Gatspy the other night for inspiration. Canterbury is a super classy place and I will definitely be going back for dinner in the future.
This was a project in my Advanced Digital Imaging class. It was basically an exercise in combining different digital imagery into a cohesive scene. I manipulated two photographs (taken by me), created two vector objects in Illustrator, painted the background in Photoshop, and added lighting and blur effects also in Photoshop. Below are the original unedited photographs.
My concept for the scene was to show the importance of having an inspiring work area and having the right tools to create what is in your mind. So, I have my work area shown with various objects on the desk, including my phone which would have a tiny town emerging from it. Then wanted to add a mystical feel by placing the strange-looking objects (which are the two vector items). To further enhance the mystical mood, I added the colorized lighting and put the focus on the tiny town by using blurs.
Here is the finished product. I tweeted it to the Duck Dynasty on AE. It would be awesome if they saw it. 🙂
This weekend, I chopped my hair to be short again (do you like it?), I bought some awesome screen-printed shirts from Vardagen in Fishers, Indiana, and my car was subject to a hit-and-run. I guess you have to take the good with the bad. Life is fun!
It just makes me so happy, happy, happy! I spent hours working on this today. I think I’m finally done with the beard part. Now I just need to make a poster out of it.

This is my concept for the first project in advanced typography. How many people know the reference? I’ll post pictures once it is finished.
This is a Prezi I made which expresses my belief that finding your identity requires looking to God. There is also a short video at the end. The video isn’t my best work (I shot the footage on my cell phone!) but I think it helps to get my point across. 🙂
I don’t know what I would do without my book of lists. I make to-do lists, lists of things I want to remember, lists of supplies that I need. It’s how I stay on top of things. It also helps to have a physical book to write the lists in rather than having a digital list, cause then I can doodle.
Now if only I could make my list book pages look as beautiful as the example below. Quite inspiring.

I know I’ve been MIA for a while, but now I’m back now—rested and refreshed. After finishing a stressful quarter at school, I had some time off to recuperate. I went on my first cruise with my husband to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. It was awesome.
Anyways, now that I’m back I plan on posting a lot more on here. I’ve been working on several projects that I will post soon, including a poster summarizing my cruise trip to the Bahamas. I have also recently developed a brand for myself and I will be updating the appearance of this site to match my theme. Yay!
